Baby Knitwear Manufacturer in Turkey — Wholesale & Private Label

Knitwear separates serious kidswear suppliers from resellers, because it demands yarn sourcing, gauge control and linking quality that cut-and-sew factories do not have. Turkey has a deep knitwear base in Istanbul and Bursa built on decades of supplying European brands, working in 7, 12 and 14 gauge on both flat-bed and computerised Shima Seiki machines. For baby ranges we work mainly in soft-spun cotton, cotton-merino blends and hypoallergenic acrylic blends for value programmes, producing cardigans, jumpers, knitted rompers and two-piece knit sets. Minimums are higher than jersey — 100 pieces per style per colour — because yarn is dyed in lots, and sample lead time runs slightly longer at five to eight days.

Questions

Frequently asked

Why is the knitwear MOQ higher than jersey?+

Yarn is dyed in lots before knitting, so the minimum economic run is 100 pieces per style per colour rather than the 50 we accept on jersey products.

What gauges do you produce?+

7 gauge for chunkier winter pieces, 12 and 14 gauge for fine baby knitwear, on both flat-bed and computerised Shima Seiki machines.

Can you develop a custom jacquard pattern?+

Yes. Development takes five to eight days for the first swatch; the cost is absorbed into orders above 1,000 pieces.

Is merino available for baby skin contact?+

Yes — fine-micron merino blended with cotton is used for next-to-skin baby knitwear, which avoids the prickle of coarser wool.

How long is knitwear production?+

Eighteen to twenty-five days from sample approval, longer than jersey because of yarn dyeing and hand-linking on finishing.
